Dream States and the Edge of Consciousness

As with all sentient beings, we act as a type of ‘filter’ for divine source.  We see and reflect, refract and transmutes the divine source, the fabric of the manifest universe, that is birthed into matter, and light, and wisdom and collective unconscious.  We can purify the filters over the course of a thousand lifetimes, to ‘see’ or perceive in incredible ways.  We may also incarnate and have the ability to ‘see’ through multiple levels of reality after carrying light in a specific way from only a few lifetimes.

Each person is capable of offering their particular aspect of light expansion, in their own unique way.  One personas beauty does not cancel out the beauty of another persons entirely different and still valuable, gifts. Indeed, some of the very opposite in perception can weave together beautifully to create a framework, or tapestry of thought and possibility that deeply benefits the world at large.  Physically minded or spiritually minded, emotionally sensitive, or mentally focused, together each can offer explanations that deepen another individuals connection to their life path by helping to activate cultural or spiritual Memory for a more empowered sense of belonging and compassion.

We all have ways that we ultimately allow for a relaxation of the mind, to create space for heightened sensitivities on the spiritual realm. When I focus my clairvoyance, to ‘look’ and to ‘see’ when someone has asked me for guidance, it is a relaxation of the mind not a huge effortful push.  Like a person who is drifting off into a renewing slumber, we can relax into the navigation of different levels of consciousness.  Relaxation does not mean the same thing for every individual.  Relaxation for one might only happen when intense physical activity has occurred.  In the expression of adrenalin, they open up a space within the consciousness mind to feel ‘safe’ directly afterwards or during, because truly being relaxed for that person might actually equate to physical strength  as indications of safety.  Another may find a pathway through to their akashic record or wisdom through deep mediation in solitude.  In a space with no other humans, they commune with nature, and in this manner can ‘relax’ into opening up their inherent sensitivities such as clairaudience or clairsentience.

For those whom are seeking to begin a new cycle of connecting with their particular gifts, I offer the following as gentle suggestions to be explored. *Encouraging each reader to allow their instinctive understanding of their most powerful pathways of self to be their guides, your way may already be more effective for you than the below suggestions.*

1.) Identify when one is truly relaxed.  Is it a relaxation of the physical body that we equate with sensitivity, or is it a pathway that we honour or ignore in another aspect of being?  When do we notice/connect that the reception of our 6th sense was heightened.  For example, when travelling in other countries, because I am not often distracted by my native language, I am more relaxed in ‘listening’ with all of my senses to understand what the emotional, mental or physical climate of my direct surroundings are.  In many ways I would not have equated travelling alone through countries of vast cultural differences as relaxing, and yet with self analysis I can acknowledge that this is so.

2.) Allow for the possibility of this same ‘relaxation’ into conscious expanded reception with clear energy boundaries.  Many people with heightened sensitivities are afraid that in being ‘open’ they will attract harmful and fearful experiences.  This is a valid fear.  A relatable example of this is when we choose to close a door at our physical house, so that we can safely clean, cook and fulfill responsible action.  We do so to indicate to the world at large that they are not welcome without invitation.  For anyone opening gently their psychic perceptions, it is incredibly important to do so in manner that is ‘safe’ with energy boundaries in place.  For further reading on how to create healthful boundaries visit blogpost: Boundaries and Personal Power

3.) Practice.  Practice with recording ones perceptions, practice compassion for the self when it feels unfamiliar to be that trusting of intuitive information.  Practice encouraging those in our lives to trust themselves and their instincts, to learn hard or soft lessons, to take chances in verbally or artistically expressing their heightened natural perceptions.  We all have our own unique path to dance, or climb or fight or meditate through.  We get to be uniquely beautiful in all the stages.

4.) Honestly review what amount of time during ones day or week feels as though it has honoured the perceptions one carries.  Do we allow ourselves to be relaxed and receiving of divine source and guidance every day?  Once a week? Only in times of tragedy?  How does that allotment of ‘time’ or reception sit with us and the goals we hold for a compassionate view of ourselves and our world?  Again there is no ‘right’ time allotment. Some people will live a very fulfilling life having experienced one divinely connected moment for their entire incarnation.  Others will seek expanded levels of consciousness daily.  We get to determine what feels ‘right’ for us in this lifetime, and through the Law of Free Will, we get to change that pattern if after a span of months or years or generations, we are ready for something else.

5.) Keep a sense of humour. Without humour I would never have truly accepted my gifts.  I can laugh at myself and the world.  I can laugh with delight, with outrage with sorrow and with joy.  The movement of the diaphragm during laughter helps to stimulate the third chakra, the power centre at the navel.  Be powerful, clear the energy in the room, space, family or workplace.  Spiritual perceptions can be incredibly serious, but they can also have the beauty of lightheartedness as we explore and practice.

A prayer that I have found useful for those who notice the vibrational shift when affirming/praying aloud is:

“Dear Divine Source, God/dess of Creation, thank you for this life.  Help me to see myself and my evolution as a tool that amplifies the compassionate experience and unfolding in connection to the world at large, of our greater collective unconscious.  Thank you for helping me to expand my energy field to feel more rooted to this planet, so that as I open etherically, I do so with balance through my feet and being on this wondrous planet.  Please help me to find ways to express this unfolding, in service to mass consciousness and to the earth, the planet, the animals, other people, my family and community and my own individual experience.  Please help me to shield from lower vibrations that distract from Divine Love, and to feel connected {every day, once a month, during the year} as is most healthful for me at this time. Thank you for this assistance on every level, Amen, Om and Aho.”

At the edges of our conscious mind we are each consistently receiving waves of energy.  Some are lower frequency and may have fear associated with them.  Some are bright and light and beautiful and help us to see the potential for mankind on this planet.  Like radio stations we tune into, we are each a filter for the energy that pervades the manifest universe.  What are the ways we are all filtering and receiving and sharing for this new shift of time and purpose?  What aspects of the Divine do we openly allow to infuse our energy body and beam out towards the world at large?

This year, may we each make conscious choices about the ways we are conduits of Light,

With respect and appreciation for all those who are shining,

Kamia

Lighting Our Way Through Dark Nights of the Soul

The Soul travels through time and space, retaining knowledge of what pathways of light are sustaining of hope, what pathways of choices ultimately contribute to collective despair. The Akashic Records and our multiple reincarnations offer us ample opportunities to identify when a pattern or challenge is familiar, and we are equipped with free will to navigate it in a variety ways. Each of us, on our human incarnated present journeys, are asked, tested, so to speak, by circumstances in life that we have co-created, on an etheric level, how will we deepen our reservoirs of compassion? How will we create bridges together through grief, to the bliss of being on all levels, spiritually, mentally, emotionally and physically aligned?

Every spiritual devotee and seeker, must exist in the physical world and must experience the trials of developing or ignoring their personal gifts, or enhanced perception. Yet with each individual that commits to celebrating their gifts, energy vibrations lighten for the generations that follow and for those people that are interacted with on a daily, or soul path, basis. Through acknowledging that we go through continuous cycles of rebirth, death and dying, through uncovering the joy that fills the space between each release of old patterns, we become like master builders/teachers on each level, capable of intentionally constructing networks of light that support, elevate and encourage the collective unconscious as it radiates Love.

When a spiritual seeker is developing their skills, we each are given ample opportunity to fine tune our intentions, strengths and faith. Like the tasks that heroes and heroines of old were asked to preform to become worthy of their titles, each person incarnated on the planet is offered multiple scenarios and learning experiences to finely tune their particular gifts. Some of the lessons we experience deepen our wealth of compassion; we may experience deep wells of grief, frustration, confusion or other forms of human suffering. Yet, through those experiences, we are all ultimately offered the choice of what we will actively contribute on a grander scale having explored and survived such scenarios. Do we choose to turn the depth of our emotional experience into a lantern, helping hand, or a beacon of hope for others? Or do we recreate the lesson multiple times by seeking out those who reflect the emotional intensity of a scenario that is familiar, as we are offered choices repeatedly on how we wish to develop or unfold?

Our energy selves yearn to unfurl, like the wings of birds or butterflies, or waves crashing against the shore. Our energy bodies are often held in tightly against our perception of what physical space we ‘should’ occupy as humans.
Yet, when our vast and Soul rich self, is acknowledged, we are offered gifts for perceiving how in previous lives, we also moved through and beyond challenges, ever evolving and deepening our knowledge and wisdom of human, and spiritual experience. What are the gifts that rush to the surface of the psyche when we create new space through release? We each have gifts that contribute to the gifts of others around the globe. One persons kind or brave act often inspires or assists another person in honing their particular gifts. An artists work with a subject matter of a trial or pattern they have recently chosen to move through and beyond, for example, may help acknowledge and then heal the emotional wounds another carries, whom then becomes an advocate for people in trauma, whom in turn one day choose to raise families with acceptance and compassion, whom in turn build new communities, businesses and stories of their own that effect thousands.

On days in which I acknowledge that something that has been familiar, is ready to transition into a natural death cycle in my psyche, I take a moment to consider all of the ways in which I have learned from the pattern I wish to release. If I sense a friendship, a past-life loved one, a job, a lifestyle choice, or a thought pattern, that I am ready to move beyond, I am best able to identify it by seeing/acknowledging the space within me that no longer carries a desire to experience the intensity the situation evoked on an emotional, spiritual, mental or physical level. Once I have identified this space that is ready to be honoured, I say a prayer such as:

“Dear God/dess of Creation, please surround myself and my loved ones in globes of divine light for protection, courage and strength. Please help me to honestly see the ways in which I have been feeding this (pattern/scenario/relationship) and clearly identify what needs to shift within my being to effect positive change in honouring my highest Truth and Soul Path. Thank you for assisting my clarity and infusing this situation with the healing I am ready to integrate and accept to move beyond this pattern, and to invite divine health into my life on all levels. Thank you, Amen, Aho, and Om.”

I then visualize sending the learning lesson deep levels of Love. As a clairvoyant person, this Love is something I perceive as like a river of light. I thank each person who contributed to the pattern, even those that caused pain, for without that discomfort, perhaps, I would not have recognized my desire to grow. And with the love that is being sent, I then release the feeling/image/pattern/scenario, in my mind, seeing the pathways of light that connected me, dissolving and flowing away from my energy body like a leaf moving down a river. As the lesson moves out of my etheric field, I often feel a ‘lightening’ as if it is more possible to draw a deep and full breath, as new space has been opened up around my being.

We are all so connected to the etheric level of creation and this physical human experience in which we can awaken repeatedly in one lifetime, to infinite knowledge. We need not be caught in despair or anger, we may choose new pathways each and every day. We may be highly conscious, totally sensitive evolving souls who learn with every breath that we are blessed with, in our current bodies. All people have compassion and gifts to offer when making choices with focused intent for a more healthful existence and cohabitation of this wondrous planet.  As sensitive awakening beings, the souls incarnated on this planet have a millennia of knowledge, wisdom and perception that sees through the veils of current reality, to the possibilities, the incredible vision of what individuals and groups working in collective manifestation, are capable of contributing.

Thank you for shining.
with light and respect,
Kamia

Simple Pleasures, Celebrating this Life

Life is such a gift. A balanced spiritually devout being is not asked by the Divine to reject the physical world or the body that houses us. To fully bring forth the gifts we are each carrying, we are asked to make peace and practice love within the body we inhabit. We each carry intuitive knowledge of what the ‘wild self,’ the essence that is our purest form, is craving for celebratory Joy. Our energy bodies, vast, expansive and carrying the wisdom from thousands of reincarnated lives, are offered Balance through this cycle of life, with both the deep sorrows and grief we can survive, counterposed by the absolute delight in being alive these bodies and incarnated selves are capable of experiencing. Our wild selves may need serious unleashing, yelling in the forest, or pounding at top speed up a mountain, But sometimes that intuitive voice, that yearning to let go, and unfold the wings we are each carrying, can be as sweet and simple as sunlight on our upturned faces or feeling the soft petals of a flower as our fingers trail through a garden; our Souls way of physically, mentally and emotionally honouring a longing, an impetus for change, for radiance and colour and a saturation of the precious nectar of life. We can feel equal delight from a meditation in which we are connected with our soul groups on the spiritual plane, to the delight that is possible when our toes curl in grass, or sand, or mud. Feeling the power in our arms when we hold someone close, sharing the rhythm of one another’s heart beats connects many levels of being with the beauty and joy of this life.

When was the last time we each gave ourselves permission to experience a moment with joy and total abandon? The restraints of social normalcy, ego based ‘should’s’ and repression of our personal passion, thrown out the window, while we spun in reckless self expression? There is such joy in ‘feeling’. I feel with my senses in so many ways and carry deep gratitude for those who request assistance on the etheric level, through Certified Angel Card Readings ™. Yet, if I am not ‘present’ within my body and self, I have less connection to etheric power to bring forward into facilitating healing, or to any area of my life.

When I seek to find a way to be more ‘connected ‘ to the essence of both spiritual light, and incarnated abundance, I retreat into a silent manner of being, whether outside or in a pool of sunlight within doors. Sitting, I lengthen my spine and take eight deep breathes. Placing hands over top of my navel, plans facing up for reception, or downwards for grounding.  A prayer/affirmation that I have found useful is:

“Dear Divine Source, God/dess of Creation, please help me to clearly identify the ways in which my purest essence of self is asking to be expressed, acknowledged and celebrated at this time. Please send my the assistance of Archangel Micheal to cut through any chords of fear that are blocking my receptivity to clearly perceiving the messages my Higher Self and intuitive wisdom wish to share at this time. Thank you, Amen, Aho, and OM.”

The essence of self may ask to shed layers of energy, it may wish to shout into the woods, or into a pillow. It may need to cheer enthusiastically or sing at top volume in outrageous, colourful delight. Or, it may need to place the emotional burdens of carrying those that one loves, down onto the earth and to again trust that the Divine Source is capable of cradling us all while we are learning to navigate letting go, moving forward and rediscovering our individual passions for this life. Sometimes it takes a devotion of time and energy, a promise we choose to make to ourselves, after or before all of the household, professional and family responsibilities have been managed for the day, and we escape for solitary and balancing time, a simple practice such as letting our hair flow in the wind beneath a passionate apricot and nectarine toned sunset. Somedays being connected can manifest in the gentle inspiration for changing the colours that we habitually wear. For the highly sensitive, colour and texture effect our levels of receptivity and sense of ‘belonging’ with the divine. Other days the messages may be more intense, asking for difficult conversations to occur between ourselves and our inner union of Divine Masculine and Feminine qualities, or with another person who has an impact on our well being. During those times, we each have the capacity to identify that change, growth, transformation and intuitive wisdom can release a myriad array of emotions. Yet, when we give ourselves and others permission to express emotion, we honour that we each deserve emotional health.

In what ever capacity, we are each drawn to connecting, celebration and honouring the different levels of ‘self’ we each have, may we do so with boldness, colour and delight. For truly, this life, for all that it brings during times of despair, offerings us equal measure to choose to be present with Joy, with delight and with the simple pleasures of being incarnated and alive during this time of momentous potential for change and higher consciousness.

Planting Seeds for Compassion, Teaching Children Yoga

When my daughter began kindergarten in 2012, like many parents, I hoped her school experience would encourage her curiosity to learn, provide opportunities for kindhearted friends, and gift me with five blessed hours of alone time. In the first few months of school she would confide in me over lunch, the joys, the sorrows and the frustrations of navigating her new social and education reality. I delighted in hearing that her new best friend was kind and helpful, and that her teacher devoted time and energy to each child’s particular learning needs. One day she asked me what a particular swear word meant. When I asked where she had encountered it, she explained a classmate had taken to calling her that and stepping on her hands or kicking her when saying it.

I went to the teacher immediately to ask what could be done to stop the violent words and behaviour. The teacher explained that the particular child was receiving a lot of support from the school and came from adverse circumstances. After hearing the child’s story, I altered my approach from asking for intervention, to offering my presence in the classroom as another avenue for providing an expanded positive vocabulary, and developing tools for self awareness, through gentle yoga classes.
My theory, was that a greater focus on positive self talk might encourage a wider and kinder vocabulary in students, as well as fostering a more gentle interaction in group dynamic, while balancing all of the major glands in the body though the postures, and might effect a more gentle physical shared experience.

“Yoga makes me feel calm” (kindergarten, grade 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7) *from a pool of just under 400 students

“Yoga makes me feel like I love everyone” (grade 1 student)

I taught that particular kindergarten class a series of four classes, stipulating that so long as children respected the personal space of one another, and stayed on their own matts, they could follow along in a way that felt right for their own bodies and self. Children delighted in being shown through their ‘island’ that their personal space was entirely their own for exploring their bodies and feelings. I was quietly amazed as the majority of the class followed every body shape and breathing technique. Children would learn from one class to the next how to navigate and distinguish between opposite sides of their bodies, balance in stillness on one foot, building strength and confidence in powerful shapes, and relax with their fertile imaginations unleashed at the end of the class. Their brains were flushed with freshly oxygenated blood through their first few movements, and the room would still to near silence. The child who had been bullying mine, carefully stayed on their own ‘island’ (matt) hugging their knees and rocking back and forth for the first year.

Soon after I was welcomed into that classroom, other teachers in the school asked if I would teach in their classrooms. I felt delighted to be sharing simple tools with children for self regulation, awareness and wellness. We practised breathing techniques that balance the pituitary and pineal glands, and shapes that revitalize our immune systems. Children learned how twisting can balance their insulin levels, or regulate the adrenal glands, helping us each to feel a deeper sense of safety and ease. That first year I taught in five different classrooms, with a span of kindergarten to grade 7, mostly in a volunteer capacity, happily sharing a positive dialogue and watching the children’s receptivity to perceiving themselves, one another and their learning environment in a new way. When working alongside that first group of Grade 7’s, the majority wrote of their experience, that yoga had significantly decreased their sense of anxiety and stress while in school. I quietly marvelled at the ways in which that hormone rich age group respectfully approached themselves and one another when asked to be squished so close together around their desks, upside down, twisted and exposed in unfamiliar experience.

“The best thing I learned about myself in yoga is how calm I can be.” (grade 5-7)

“The best thing I learned about myself in yoga is to be calm, to listen to my body.” (grade 3)

“My favourite shape in yoga is mountain because it helps me be strong and not afraid.”
(grade 2)
“My favourite shape in yoga is tree and mountain, it was peaceful to me.” (grade 3)

In those 20 – 40 minute long classes, I often felt as though I was watching small and large miracles. During the second year of practice the child who had bullied mine in kindergarten wrote of their yoga experience “Yoga makes me feel calm, and to calm down when I am upset before it.” (grade 1) During the second year the same child began to participate in over half the shapes (asanas). In the third year, the child is an exemplary leader, participating in every shape, often at the front of the class.

In their own words, elementary school students say that:

“Yoga makes me feel happy.” (kindergarten)

“Yoga makes me feel good.” (grade 2)

“Yoga makes me feel relaxed” (grade 3)

“Yoga makes me feel more healthy” (grade 2)

“Yoga makes me feel strong and brave” (grade 2)

After three years in an elementary school, in which children grades kindergarten to grade 3 received up to 16 instructional yoga classes each for a school year, I have had the good fortune to expand and teach in other learning environments.

“Yoga makes me feel relaxed free and confident” (grade 3)

Another elementary school, kindergarten to Grade 7 had an introductory 4 week session. The older children, in their first class looked around at one another with uncertainty, giggles, insecurity and embarrassment. I explained that our yoga classes were a time for them each to remember ways in which they were capable and powerful in learning to understand what feels good for their bodies, and to respect one another as each individual learned, breathed, bent and twisted in ways that were safe and comfortable. I also explained that yoga was time for developing an internal gaze, to explore our mental, emotional, physical and intuitive selves. During those four classes, the children’s eyes softened, no longer seeking nonverbal approval from one another, but closing their eyes to tune in more fully to their own experience. The embarrassment level shifted, and each child participated, focused on their own body and breath for a 40 minute class in relative silence.

“Yoga makes me feel good about myself” (grade 5-7)

“My favourite shape in yoga is stretching my legs because it makes me feel capable to do more things in life that make me feel good.” (grade 5-7)

What a remarkable shift I witnessed during an age in which hormones and peer acceptance can wreak such havoc.

“Yoga makes me feel amazing, I felt free.” (grade 5-7)

“The best thing I learned about myself during yoga is I’m actually better at things than I thought.” (grade5-7)

I have recently had the good fortune to be welcomed into two preschools where I spend a weekly session with 3yrs and 4yrs old. They are so focused, one could hear a pin drop. Their eyes are huge and round as they listen to instructions and seek to make new shapes with their bodies while using their imaginations for things such as ‘gathering handfuls of sunshine’ (during pranayama/breath) or ‘uncurling like leaves and flowers opening in spring’ (during asana/body shapes). I am also blessed with a few classes a year where kindergarten children and seniors in an assisted living home, practice chair yoga together. The elders watch the children, so focused and free in their imagining, and I see the elders light up in the shared imagining, oxygen saturation and gentle movement. Circulation benefits physical and mental health in all ways. When we have simple body movement, combined with conscious breathing, we are often offered gifts in elevated mood, and hopefulness for ourselves and this world.

When I spend time watching the children, noticing the way they respond to deepening their breath, and holding a shape in stillness, I continue to feel that I am witnessing small miracles.

“The best thing I learned about myself in yoga is that I am unique.” (grade 2)

“The best thing I learned about myself in yoga is that I am brave.” (grade 2)

A parent approached me in my second year and related a story of witnessing her daughter fall and hurt herself. The child sat up, shifted her posture and began to follow the deep belly breath she had recently learned in kindergarten. She was mitigating her experience of pain instinctively, seeking calm. The parent voiced amazement in watching the self analysis and transformation in her 6yr old.

“Yoga makes me feel relaxed and calm.” (kindergarten)

“Yoga makes me feel rainbows happy” (kindergarten).
I have had several parents relate instances where their children are incorporating movement and breath from school, into their daily lives. Some want to teach the rest of their family, everything they have learned that day. Others want to share in deep belly breathing at bedtime. When I drop off my child at school it is often to a chorus of children asking me “When do we have yoga next? Is it today?” Many of them are children such as the one who inspired my volunteering the first year, kids that struggle with focus or kindness, but are learning to the best of their current abilities, to assimilate self awareness, compassion and calm. These same children will mirror learning challenges in the classroom, such as a challenge to focus, through their body shapes in yoga. Through balancing on one leg for example, often children who have difficulty focusing in class, will be the first to fall over. Yet through the course of a year, those children will grow from holding a balancing posture, with focus from a single breath to 4-6 breaths in a row, an incredible shift in their mental and physical regulation.

Recently a friend asked me about teaching children’s’ yoga, and if I planned to continue in the upcoming years. I replied I was still passionate about teaching, and I believed learning to breathe and move for calm, strength, focus and power should be a basic human right. He cheered. I further explained that I often wondered “How powerful would we each feel as adults, if during times of heightened anxiety, stress, pain, frustration or anger, we naturally took a few deep breaths, finding a physical posture that helped us feel calm, or strong, or confident or focused, and then made our next choice, action or reply?” My daughter was riding her bike down a steep trail for the first time, and as she paused at the top of an unknown hill. I asked her if I could assist her.
“No Mama, I’m asking myself if I can do this.’ she replied, taking four deep belly breaths as we do at the beginning of each yoga class. At the end of the fourth breath I saw her smile. “My body says I can do this!” and she pushed off with confidence.

“The best thing I learned about myself in yoga is that I’m strong.” (grade 3)

“The best thing that I learned about myself in Yoga is that I am Powerful.” (grade 5-7)

“The best thing that I learned about myself in yoga is that yoga can calm me down” (grade 1)

“The best thing I learned about myself in yoga is that I could be peaceful.” (grade 2)

How could our professional and personal lives shift if we had learned at a young enough age, that it felt wholly natural, to balance our hormonal secretions, invigorate our organs and balance our circulatory, skeletal structure and the master glands of our miraculous bodies to the point that doing so was as familiar as reciting the ABC’s? Many of the children have assimilated their body movements and breathing to such a degree that I hear them whispering the instructions even before I voice them. They particularly focus on new shapes or breathing that teach them about their physical bodies such as compressing and detoxifying their lungs, or learning a sensory controlling posture, which inevitably brings absolute stillness and quiet into the classroom. One grade three student who often struggled with stillness and verbal quiet, asked to practice a particular sensory controlling pose every class, after learning it the first time. The student shifted to eagerly anticipating his yoga classes having experienced a way to self regulate with a powerful new tool.

“The best thing I learned about myself in yoga is I to find peace, and I never noticed so many things about myself before.” (grade 3)

“My favourite shape in yoga is downward dog because it stretches the back of my legs. Thank you so much for teaching this.” (grade 5-7)
“The best thing I learned about myself in yoga is how calm I can be.” (grade 5-7).

During a children’s yoga class I use vocabulary that focuses on the physical benefits, such as having their heads below their hearts and saturating their brains with fresh oxygenated blood which helps us feel calm, and better at problem solving. All language used respects the cultural differences, faiths and spiritual beliefs of our multicultural country. Some classes ask that I refrain from using the word ‘yoga’ I then explain we will be ‘stretching’ to help us all feel more ‘balanced’. I am happy to shift dialogue to be inclusive, just as I appreciate other educators doing so for my own child in alternate learning environments. Our classes have a predictable flow, with new shapes inserted that build on the foundations built in the previous classes. Children amaze me with balancing in stillness, in a core muscle building shape that also stimulates emotional confidence and using ones assertive voice. This shape is introduced in every class, the ‘boat’ posture, one I watch shift from two breaths in stillness to 6-8 breathes over the course of the year.

“The best thing I learned about myself in Yoga is that I am powerful and brave.”(grade 3)

There is also a focus on nature, and the ways in which our human self is connected to, and a mirror for the natural environment. At the end of each school year we brings our matts outside, where children are looking at mountains and trees as they make the same yoga shape with their bodies.

“Yoga makes me feel like I am in a field of flowers.” (grade 2)

In this way we foster a connection to our environment and a sense of belonging as well as fostering the confidence to be focused on the self even when the outside world provides distractions as everyday life passes the schools field in cars, on bikes, maintenance crews and dog walkers. Children train their internal gaze to allow that the outward environment can be erratic and unpredictable, yet through their breath and movement, they can complete tasks, invest in their personal health, and support one another’s individual experience by respecting time and space while others also focus and move with mindfulness.

“My favourite shape in yoga is tree because I feel tall and powerful.” (grade 5-7)

“My favourite shape in yoga is mountain because it makes me feel balanced.” (grade 3-4)

I’m not sure how many years I will have the joy of sharing yoga with children in a school setting. Like many things, it depends on the support of the teaching staff, the principal and the availability of funding. Yet for every year and every child I am able to teach, I feel a little more hopeful for our planet and species as a whole.

When I ask the children to imagine during their laying down restful time (savasana) and to think about the ways they have the power to build, connect, share, and create across this wondrous planet, as they lay quietly on their matts, relaxing at the end of the series, I cannot help but envision a future in which they take those words to heart, celebrating one another’s strengths and carrying just a little more acceptance into adulthood for the ways we all move, breathe and bend differently on all levels. During each class we say out load one positive self affirming statement, inspired by SO HUM (I am that, that is I). With their hands over their bellies they all roar statements such as “I AM BRAVE”, for it is brave to bend and shift, to giggle or fart with all your classmates baring witness. The children are given opportunity to say things such as
“I AM WISE
or KIND
or GENTLE
or POWERFUL
or CREATIVE
or STRONG.”
All of the attributes we carry as humans and choose whether or not to foster. Some of the children instruct one another on what the words mean, or share what they felt the word means when applied to themselves. When I asked children what the most powerful words were that had ever been spoken to them, I got answers such as ‘My dad told me I’m a kind boy, and I try hard at everything I do.’ or ‘My grandam told me she loved me.’ I then encouraged students to consider the power their words have on one another, before each student looked around the room and said “Thank you for being powerful friends.” It was an incredibly heart filling experience to see them looking at one another with the new understanding that they had the ability and the power to effect the way someone thought about themselves. Encouraging positive self esteem as the children grow older, will be such a huge part of the ways peers and individuals internalize feelings of being supported or criticized.
“Your weekly affirmations were beneficial to the children and helped them vocalize- and maybe even internalize-these important messages. This was my favourite part!”(kindergarten teacher).

After each class, the children go back to their regular learning schedules. They move back desks, and pick up bits of paper, they learn French and music and math, and all the many other systems our current schools incorporate. Yet, once a week or four times a year, during the first half of their day for 20 mins or half an hour, the rooms are mostly silent, the ocean of the floor punctuated by rainbow hued yoga matts, their islands that are just for them while breathing together, imagining, and taking note of all the ways we are each growing and changing every day. During this time, students are encouraged to be utterly themselves. To voice the colour of bird or magical creature their body shape represents, to feel welcome in expressing if they are fans of rainbow sparkles, kindness or courage. To build their warrior strength as both young women and men, and to see that every one of them is a superhero in their very own way. There are no tests, or expectations on my part as a yoga instructor. I ask them to give themselves the gift of doing the best that they are able on any given day, and if they ‘feel’ that they have invested in themselves, then I celebrate each of them. It is a small thing, this 20-40mins every two weeks, in the course of a life, but I witness small seeds of compassion and strength being planted during that time, that could blossom in unexpected and incredible ways as the children age. Perhaps a stronger connection to respecting their own bodies will influence the ways in which they are respectful of one another as adults in relationships both professionally and personally. Perhaps having felt what a balanced physiological system feels like, there may be slightly less of an inclination towards toxic substances that change the way their bodies and minds feel. I can only hope to bare witness over the years, as I have had the extreme good fortune to do this far, and have some of them become teachers in their own right in whatever field of study they choose to invest in as adults.

“The best thing I learned about myself in yoga is that it helps me to learn and try my best.” (grade 1)

“The best thing I learned about myself in yoga is that is makes me wake up so that I can learn.” (grade 1)

“The best thing I learned about myself in yoga is that I could get stronger.” (grade 1)

“The best thing that I learned in yoga is that it made me have a good day.” (grade 2)
For all of those yoga teachers out there who feel drawn to working alongside and empowering children, may you connect in a positive way in local studios, schools or private lessons with the students who can benefit most from the wisdom and wellness you carry.

With sincere thanks to each of the teachers and children who has thus far welcomed me into their classes, you all teach me every day!

with light,

Kamia (Durga)

Choosing Love, Energy Nodes of Light

This morning as I awake, I feet the etheric realm wrapped closely around the physical reality. Like sage smoke in an abalone shell, spiraling around my awareness and expanding out into the mist that lays across the fields. The tangible presence of Angels, Ascended Masters, Spirit Helpers, Ancestors and the Fairy Kingdom feel close this morning, as if the veil between the conscious world and that which many are just beginning to perceive, has opened new doorways.

img_3048

As a predominantly Clairvoyant person, I ‘see’ these images, and figures, light traveling in synchronicity with the physical world, overlying space, like rainbows from a crystal, that dance across a wall, when sunlight shines through. We are all like the window crystals, capable of Light shining through us and I perceive such potential for beauty and compassion in the world, the potential for each individuals choice and action to manifest as an individual, but also as a part of the collective, a future that is based on expression of Divine Love. Yet, it would be untrue to not acknowledge the other choice, that each person and humanity has before them. The etheric and spiritual reality offers many gifts for Light expansion, yet there are other forces at play in the manifest universe, and these are choices based on fear and hatred.  Lower dimensions of reality play out scenarios of chaos and pain. Our present Earth and dimension, can be ripe with beauty, it can also have chaos and fear. People are given choices each and every day, to direct their energy, their focus, their values and faith in their own unique way. Many choose to direct their energy with Divine Love. Some choose to destroy with fear, and bring chaos.

When I feel myself spiraling towards a fear based thought, I give thanks for this beautiful earth as it contrasts with the realities in the lower dimensions, the suffering I have witnessed there in astral projection, and I remember the incredible privilege we are each carrying as souls incarnated at this time on the planet, with the Power of Free Will. We are able to chose, in every moment, how we will act, or react. Many souls on the planet have several thousand lifetimes to draw upon, for wisdom, and courage when faced with navigating waves of fear. In claiming our own gifts, we are able to see, that there are days and instances for balanced being, where our own balance effects the courage and balance of others, days where prayer and meditation helps to clear the etheric space around a group or an individual, and also days in which we gather the physical power we have, to offer a helping hand, a loving touch, or breaking bread with someone who is in need of sustenance.

For many years I travelled the world and witnessed the absolute beauty this planet has to offer. I witnessed and was blessed by the generosity of strangers, the spiritual power of many cultures, the light and love present in families of all sizes, ethnic backgrounds, and cultural diversities. What a wealth of grace this planet has to offer us. What an incredible journey we are offered in this life. And then one day I was ready to begin my own family, and to seek to share what knowledge I had gathered through writing, teaching, and parenting. I tell my daughter, “This world is full of people who make choices every day. They can choose to Love, to create and build, or they can choose to hate, to tear down and destroy. Make the choices you can live with, the ones that our great grandchildren can respect. Choose Love and be assertive in your voice when you have a choice to influence others.” She takes deep breathes, and puffs out her chest and says in her warriors voice “I choose Love!” Yet, as an adult I know the challenges of this choice. The ways in which we are asked to leave our comfort zone, to be noticed by others for having an opposing view, or an alternate perspective. When I published my book ‘Soul Evolution’  I went through an entire year of overcoming intense, sweat inducing, knees shaking, fearfulness. It isn’s always comfortable to shout and beam to the world “This is what I stand for!” Yet, as a reincarnated Soul, my purpose is to see with a far perspective, in each direction, through multiple levels of reality, and remind anyone who is listening, that we can Choose. Choose to be bold, brave, courageous, Love and light filled beings, who speak up in the face of fear or hatred. Who make Love a mantra, a way of life, and in each instance, choose to bring forth a balanced self who leads with example.

We cannot control another persons choices, yet we can be conscious of the individual Power we each hold as we navigate our own life experience and effect the experience of others. Will today be a day in which we direct our light to educate and empower? Will we speak the truth to our children of the choices they will make in the course of their lives, to be aware of both Love and Fear and their ultimate choice in alignment with one or the other? The basis of our life experience our work, our relationships, our collective unfolding, our environment, out cultural values, each come to a single choice in time and self where we are willing to examine the ways in which we are Loving ourselves, each other, the world.

The spiritual helpers who are surrounding us each this morning send forth this simple message to those of us in physical bodies: “In each circumstance we have a choice be conscious and choose Love. The little things, become the big things, and ultimately send an opposing wave of Light against the fear that is so readily broadcasted.”

A prayer for connecting with the Light beings assisting each of us at this time:

“Dear God/dess, source of creation and light, please help me to perceive the matrix of light of which I am an integral part. Please help me to connect with the Ascended Masters and Archangels, the nature spirits and the ancestors who wish to assist me most at this time, in my own connection to Wisdom, Grace and Divine Love. Please help me to identify the choices I make each day, and repeatedly, that assist this world on its evolution as a Compassionate being that houses us all. Please help me find the courage I need to speak, act and inspire others in manifesting our collective future through challenging times, so that I may continue to be a conduit of Divine Love and Light. Thank you, Amen, Om and Aho.”

When my clairvoyance is open and receiving, what I see are circles of light beings surrounding us and this planet. The earth anchors some of the ancestors who seek to remain as teachers, the Ascended Masters who are still so close after their own earth walks, the Angelic light as it radiates outwards in individual light streams and colors to be more readily accessible to individual souls seeking alignment, and I see the pathways of intersecting light that connect this current reality to alternate dimensions. In all this light, we, as humans stand as nodes of connected energy. Our physical selves capable of anchoring and beaming Divine Love, Compassion, Peace, and Joy.

Thank you for your choices,

with light,

Kamia

Integration of the Christ Consciousness, Warrior-ship for Peace

One of the most powerful rays of light that we all have access to working with is a stream of energy from the ‘source’ the God/dess of creation that can be called ‘The Christ Consciousness’. This is a level of vibrational energy that attunes us with personal and cosmic levels of wisdom, truth, and strength. The Christ Consciousness energy can easily flow through our crown chakras and help to align our different levels of being, for assistance and strength when living with integrity for fulfillment of our Soul Paths. This energy when it enters our being, can be like a lightening bolt that activates any areas of our body and self that are seeking to become more aligned with our Soul Truth and Purpose.

When our seventh chakra is functioning in a optimal manner, our reception of universal energy, the light based vibrations of the universe, flow freely and with clarity into the different layers of our being. This is like a stream of light that infuses our aura, our energetic being, clears our mind to impart wisdom, intuitive flashes and clarity on the mental level, allows for the truest intention of emotional experience and reception of Divine Love on the emotional level, and allows for a healthy, energized body on the physical level. For some, this activation can be gentle, while at other times this ‘clearing’ of stagnant energy and making way for new vital life force, can manifest with certain physical responses that are not as comfortable. For example, as the chakras in the body, the energy nodes that correspond with the master glands as well as spiritual and emotional centers, clear, the physical body can undergo significant changes.

When I am receiving energy from the Christ Consciousness through my crown chakra, and stagnant energy is being removed, I have often experiences headaches or nasal congestion. When I give myself permission to claim time and space to receive light, and anchor it through my consciousness, I am better able to release the ‘tension; in my head, and to ‘see’ with clarity the changes that are needed in my physical, emotional mental and spiritual reality to be a more balanced Self. As a highly clairvoyant individual, there are times when I ‘block’ what I can see simply for the convenience of focusing on other aspects of life. When I need to clear out the pathways of personal reception, I will often get a massive beam of light at my crown chakra, that releases the images I have been avoiding seeing.

For people who are sensitive to energy in other ways, such as through clairsentience, the ability to ‘feel’ their personal truth and perceive the truth of the world around them, reactivation of their connection with the Christ Consciousness can clear out stagnant energy at their heart centers and stomachs. This can manifest as chest colds and upset stomachs as the body is forced to slow down, and process feelings on several levels. I have noticed that several people in the last two weeks are activating an alignment with the Christ Consciousness, and harnessing this infusion of light in different ways. The light as it pertains to our individual Soul Paths, asks us to each step forward after such integration with sharing of our personal strength and knowledge to assist and encourage others. Some people may find that they are feeling drawn to a shift in lifestyle job, and manner of expressing themselves in respectful relationship. The Christ Consciousness is sending waves of light o any who are open to making these shifts to wards a more personally empowered, truthful, gentle, and strong way of being.

To identify where the Christ Consciousness energy is seeking to heal and empower the self, I offer this practice:

*Find a comfortable place to sit or lay. Place the hands, with fingers interlaced, over the navel. Taking gentle breaths, visualize a light blue light entering the crown of the head, and flowing down to the tips of the toes. Continue to focus on this light, entering the head, and flowing down through the toes, and notice if any areas of the body, seek to have the light suffuse them with greater attention. If so, note the area of the body and ask the self with words or intentions such as:

“God/dess and Christ Consciousness please empower my higher self to clearly indicate wheat I can do to facilitate the greatest healing and alignment on all my levels of being at this time. I am open to receiving angelic and love based assistance in all ways. Thank you, Amen, Om and Aho.”

For each of our own alignment, we can receive messages about what is most helpful and healing at this time. Some of us may be drawn to fresh air and outdoor time, others to journalling ideas, others to images of plants and flowers that are helpful to us both visually or as teas/ and foods. Some of us may need to release emotions through tears or through communications with loved ones that we have been avoiding. If these communications are with a departed loved one, consider writing a letter, and planting it with seeds outside or burning it, to release the sentiment into the world. The Christ Consciousness aids us in having courage clarity and truth as we commit to a path of personal empowerment, as Warriors of Peace. Peace can be on a personal level of alignment as well as through our commitment to being advocates of peacefulness on a grander scale.

Examples I am seeing are the divine masculine asking for men who have words of wisdom and strength to step forward as leaders who speak form the heart, both within their families, circles of friends, and communities. Some will be asked to work with children, as leaders in non-violence, respect and compassion. Others will be encouraged to starts men’s groups that create collaborative support systems for healing from their pasts, others still will be become teachers of gentle self awareness modalities such as yoga, meditation, and mentors in nature, either through guiding outdoor experiences or spearheading gardening communities. Women can also be carriers of the Christ Consciousness in powerful ways, and this manifestation at this time will be evident as women claim their personal voices towards a future for the planet through connections with one another globally and individually at this time. Many women Leaders are coming into their power significantly with the assistance and support of the Christ Consciousness.

In whatever manner we all each synthesizing this powerful light, may it be for the greatest healing both individually and universally.
