Peace with Children, Beauty in the World.

A child enters the world, a bright beautiful soul, descending into the physical reality that will be their body, and through the first years of their life, they begin to construct a framework for ‘what is’ and ‘what isn’t’. Many of the children at this time, have entered the physical reality with immense energy gifts. They are able to ‘see’, ‘hear’, ‘feel’, and ‘sense’, the other layers of the world around them such as the etheric realm, the spirit world, the dimension of fairies, the ascended masters that walk beside them, the archangels and angels that are with them, and the past lives of those that have journeyed before and with them. These children seek a safe way to express, balance or acknowledge their extra sensory gifts with the world.

To a child who can easily see the emotional imprint of people that have lived before, or children who claim to have a ‘friend’ that no one else can see, or happily talk to an archangel like Michael, by name, being offered tools for acknowledging, nurturing, allowing exploring these gifts is a vital step in their evolution.

Highly sensitive children and adults are often all eager to develop tools such as body movement, breathing and encouraging gentle words for empowering themselves to feel balanced. Breathing offers a bridge between the physical, emotional and spiritual pathways. It can calm the mental body, and release anxiety and empower the Self. More than any other tool a child can utilize, as they navigate a world that does not always support them, learning to breathe deeply can change their entire experience.

In the last months I have begun teaching children’s yoga. It is my karmic offering to the universe to share teachings and tools with children to promote a greater sense of ‘self‘ and Peace. Sometimes simply sitting in a sacred space where they are safe to focus on their own perceptions, affords them vital time they need to feel more ‘balanced’ and peaceful towards their own experience of the world. During the sacred space we we seek create, I notice that there are certain words, and themes that cause a relaxation the levels of their physical, energetic, emotional, and spiritual bodies. Some of these words are used in phrases are as follows:

“As you connect with your heart beat, what do you notice about the way that it sounds?”

“Take a moment, as your breathe deeply, to feel the strength of your own unique thoughts, feelings, and perceptions of the world.”

“Imagine the warmth of the sun sending healing energy through all of the cells of your body. Let that warmth of the sunlight be like a hug from someone you love.

Children do not have the same erected energy/mental framework as adults have about ‘what is’ and ‘what is not’. Asking a child to gather rainbows with their fingers, will on the energy plane, draw in a divine network of light to a room, or building, as the child literally draws in etheric rainbows from their innate connection to the Divine.

Asking children to breathe from their center, and teaching them to expand their bellies with each breathe, empowers them to speak with greater confidence as their body and brains are equally nourished with oxygen saturated blood. It also helps them center themselves into their ‘personal power’, the chakra at the stomach from which our assertive, power center is stimulated.  Children of different heritages, religions, spiritual practice, genders and age, each carry seeds of the Divine. Whatever name is used, is not as important as the idea that as they seek to express their own unique sparks of light, they are offered some tools that can be universal. We all breathe and move, and at the end of a yoga class I ask them to rub their hands together and place their warm palms on their eyes. ‘I see the Beauty within myself. I see the Beauty within the world’ they say. And then they let their hands fall and they look around at each other. The last thing we all do in unison is thank one another for sharing beauty in our own unique ways.

When a person feels connected to their sense of self worth, they are capable of acknowledging the worth and value in others, the environment, and the world at large. There is a direct link between the energy framework each person carries surrounding their belief that they have Beauty to offer this world, and their relationship to body, spirit and love. As adults, parents, teachers, friends, and humans, we are all gifted with Beauty. Sometimes as an adult we require extra care and assistance to uncover the beauty we learned to hide due to childhood and life experience. Yet a simple saying, whether silent or uttered as a prayer, is one that can transform our reality, and redesigns the energy framework we each carry around regarding our perceptions of the world.

My prayer for any to use that feel guided to at this time:

“Dear God/dess, please help me to center myself, so that I am more receptive to receiving the Beauty and gifts of the universe around me. Please send the light of Archangel Jophiel, White Tara, White Buffalo Calf Woman, Saraswati and the Blessed Mother to help me connect with the light I have brought into this incarnation, so that I may share it, and celebrate it, with each breath. Thank you. Amen, Aho and OM.”

We all carry Beauty. It is akin to Innocence, and its acknowledgment creates a pathway to Peace. It is the spark that shines with joy and confidence, encouraging the self, and all those it encounters, to grow. As we grow, as children grow, may we remember to gift one another, and nurture, this Beauty.

with light and respect for your journey,

Kamia

  1. […] Here is a paraphrased quote taken from the “Compassion” blog of the brilliant Akamia Shepherd. As a children’s yoga teacher, she explains the importance of teaching the breath to children. How that fosters peace in a child and how that will in turn foster peace in the next generation of the world itself. Read her post: “Peace with Children, Beauty in the World”. […]
